A dedicated humanitarian, Dwain Carryl divides his time between his career and several charitable organizations. A graduate of Harvard University and Yale University’s School of Management, Mr. Carryl’s education has laid a strong foundation for community service.
Dwain Carryl takes pride in serving as Board Member and Treasurer for the Deshaun Hill and Harvard Stevens Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship was founded in honor of Mr. Carryl’s former Harvard classmates Deshaun Hill and Harvard Stevens, who died tragically in a car accident. In addition to honoring the memory of these two men, this scholarship is designed to ease the financial struggles that challenge many college students. Each year, two outstanding African-American sophomores or juniors attending Harvard University receive the Deshaun Hill and Harvard Stevens Memorial Scholarship.
Dwain Carryl also donates his time and talent to Odyssey House, Inc., in New York City, by serving on its Board of Trustees. Odyssey House opens its doors to individuals with substance abuse problems and mental illness. It also provides housing for the elderly, young mothers, and the homeless. Attending fundraisers and events, he helps raise money for and awareness about this organization’s good works. Mr. Carryl also contributed to this worthy rehabilitation center by raising funds and running its annual 5K race.
